Caelum Books operates the bookstore at caelumbooks.com. This notice describes information handled when you browse, create an account, place an order, leave a review or contact us. It also explains the browser storage and service integrations used by this store.

Information you provide

Order and account details can include your name, email address, telephone number, billing and delivery addresses, items purchased and transaction references. If you create an account, we also hold the account information needed to manage access and order history. The payment method enabled at checkout determines which payment provider handles the transaction; we receive the payment status and order references needed to administer the purchase. Do not send card numbers or passwords through our support forms.

Contact and bulk-order forms collect the name, email address, subject or book request, and message you enter. Submissions are kept in a private support inbox and may also be emailed to our team. We use those details to answer the inquiry, investigate a problem or arrange the requested purchase.

Reviews and information made public

If you submit a product review, its text, chosen display name and rating may be published after moderation. Your email address is not displayed with the review. WordPress may also retain the reviewer’s IP address and browser information to administer comments and help prevent abuse. Avoid putting private contact details or another person’s information in the public review text.

Cookies, browser storage and order-source reporting

  • Store and account cookies: WordPress and WooCommerce use cookies or sessions to keep account access and the shopping cart working.
  • Saved selections: this storefront keeps wishlist choices and a record of cart product IDs and quantities in your browser’s local storage. These local records remain until they are replaced or you clear the relevant site data; the server’s cart session may expire separately.
  • Order attribution: WooCommerce’s enabled order-source feature uses first-party cookies to record referral or campaign details, device/browser information and session page activity. Its current session setting is 30 minutes. If an order is placed, source details can become part of its order record.
  • Optional review cookies: selecting the review-form checkbox can remember your review author details in that browser for a later visit.

Your browser lets you restrict cookies and remove site storage. Doing so can clear saved selections, sign you out or interrupt cart functions. A short cookie lifetime does not mean that an order record containing attribution information is deleted at the same time.

Hosting and third-party components

The store runs WordPress and WooCommerce on Hostinger hosting. Hosting and technical providers handle information needed to deliver and secure the website. Google Fonts supplies the typefaces, and a Hostinger Reach integration script is currently loaded on the storefront. Requests for these external files expose ordinary connection information, such as an IP address and browser details, to the service delivering them.

Payment services, delivery carriers and fulfillment providers receive the information necessary for their part of an order. We may also disclose information when required by law or when reasonably needed to address fraud, misuse or a legal claim. We do not sell personal information. Placing an order or sending an inquiry does not, by itself, give permission for marketing emails; any marketing signup offered is a separate choice.

Why we keep information

We use order data to fulfill purchases, provide updates and support, handle returns and maintain business records. Support messages help us respond to the issue raised. Technical request information and limited anti-abuse checks help keep the service available and protect forms and accounts. These records are retained for the relevant service, dispute, accounting and legal needs rather than for a single fixed period covering every category.

Your choices and requests

Contact us to ask about your information or request access, correction or deletion. Depending on the law that applies, additional choices, objections or appeal rights may be available. We may need to confirm your identity and may retain records that must be kept for a transaction, a dispute or a legal obligation. A parent or guardian can contact us about information a child has submitted. This store is intended for purchases managed by adults, including adults buying books for children.

If a marketing message includes an unsubscribe option, use it to stop that marketing subscription. Order and support messages needed to deal with an existing purchase are handled separately.
